Synopsis: The release of this catalog in 1994 chronicles a significant moment for Herman Miller as it was made for the 1994 re-issuing of the ‘modern classics’. Long discontinued Charles Eames and George Nelson designs were brought back for public purchase and added to the catalog, sold alongside contemporary designers of the day. The small and thick binder was designed in sections for each featured designer, with each product insert over four to six pages. Some of the Eames designs re-issued included the Hang It All, FSW Screen, ESU Storage Units and plywood LCW, DCW chairs. It would bring back classics from the 1950’s that had developed something of a cult following since and make them available once again. This iteration of a catalog ran from 1994 to 1998 with minor page updates and the addition/subtraction of products in the portfolio over that time. Examples of these catalogs can therefore display dates pf any of the years between 94 and 98. The unusual size and distinctive translucent cover makes this a popular option for collectors.
