Synopsis: A print ad that packs quite a punch! There is room for a three-quarter size photograph, a witty strapline and even all the Herman Miller showrooms across the land, it must be a new product launch of great interest. And that it was, the 1958 release of what was originally known as the ‘Indoor Outdoor’ range and later refined to the ‘Aluminum Group’. The launch of the range was made with several print adverts with varying design but this one has the hallmark of witticism often associated with the work of the original Eames Office. The large photograph features the Lounge Chair, Coffee Table, Recliner and Ottoman chosen to maximise the ‘comfort’ message of the introduction.
