An excellent example of a late rosewood chair, this fantastic combination keeps providing more visual delight as you lose yourself in the deep rosewood.
The classic finish to the chair, black and rosewood, was consistently tweaked by Herman Miller who introduced alternative leather colour choices in the late 60s and early 70s which sparked some fantastic combinations. Up until the late 80s and early 90s, the rosewood panels really hit their height with the wonderfully grained finishes that came out from the last of the wonderful wood before it was declared endangered.
Individual Characteristics
The chair set is a great example of the last of the rosewood era. The wood is simply gorgeous, with minor signs of age being present more on the edges of panels, but this is very minimal. The leather shows a little more of the wear with some minor fading at the edges of some of the cushions, but there are no cuts, tears or abrasions and the colour is still rich.
The ottoman too is in good used condition.
The sticker on the underside of the chair indicates this set is a Herman Miller example from 1970-1984.
