Login to ask a questionAfter years of experimentation and design refinement, Charles and Ray Eames perfected the 'Pivoting Side Chair' (PSC), produced by Herman Miller throughout the 1960s and 1970s. This rare and highly collectible set features six matching chairs in a beautiful bone-coloured fibreglass finish—an iconic example of mid-century American design.
Each chair features the classic contract swivel base and presents in very good vintage condition, with no structural issues, smooth swivel action, and clean aluminum bases. One chair shows a small surface chip to the fibreglass edge (pictured), which does not affect function or integrity.
All six chairs include original Herman Miller branding stamped into the shell, with some retaining their original stickers, and one featuring a serial number—authenticity assured.
Complete matching sets of PSC chairs are incredibly hard to come by—especially locally. While similar pieces are regularly snapped up in the US and Europe, they’re far less commonly available in Australia.
