Product Description

Not 100% on the year, but this is what I gathered online, as well from the previous owner:

Vintage Herman Miller Eames chairs from the 1950s are a beautiful addition to any mid-century modern decor. The chairs feature an orange padded shell material, providing both comfort and style. Their sleek and timeless design makes them a great statement piece for any room.

A vintage edition of a Herman Miller-produced Eames shell chair is emboldened by its Alexander Girard-designed orange vinyl. The vinyl finish is easy to clean and looks stunning with its orange glow.

The Eames shells require little introduction. Prototypes began in the late 1940s, and production began in 1950. Alexander Girard was commissioned to help design various upholstery finishes for both the side and arm shells, providing an alternative to the standard fiberglass shells and expanding the buying options for these chairs.

Own a piece of design history with this iconic mid-century modern chair, designed by legendary duo Ray and Charles Eames for renowned furniture manufacturer Herman Miller. This chair has a comfortable tan vinyl padded seat and a classic bent plywood frame, which is both stylish and functional.

The side shell is aged, with some slight tears and marks in the vinyl. The fiberglass shell does not display any cracks or dents.

The ‘S’ stamp signifies the shell originates from Herman Miller’s Summit Plastics factory.
