A softer finish to the traditional Seafoam colour, this gentle colour works in any interior style and perfectly represents just how versatile this iconic chair is!
A colour that was initially used as a contract colour only – minimum orders of 150 chairs – this version of the coveted seafoam colour soon became commercially available at the same time and outlasting the more well known, deeper, colour that was one of the first six colours made available when the shell chair was first introduced.
Individual Characteristics
There are clear signs of general use around the shells side with the faded colour however that aids with its history. There are signs of dirt that has been ingrained into the fiberglass so a professional clean is advised and there could be some light surface scratching present too.
Please note, the shell is in the wide mount position as opposed to the narrow mount as shown in the images.
The shell does not display a logo, marking it as a very early shell produced by Herman Miller; potentially around 1955.
