Synopsis: By the late 1970’s and into the early part of the next decade, the binder ‘full portfolio’ catalogs from Herman Miller were provided alongside price books for both contract and standard list prices. These price books were adorned with the distinctive Millerstripe pattern on the center of the cover, as were the binders themselves. The company focus of the period was very much into workplace furniture designs and this is evident with significant number of pages dedicated to the Action Office and Ergon Chair ranges, popular at that time. Even most Eames designs found within are largely work based fiberglass and Aluminum Group chairs, dining and conference tables along with the Tandem and Sling seating units. Only the ever-present Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman, Billy Wilder chaise and Compact Sofa offer something away from this. With a combination of photographs, illustrations and technical specifications, the brochures of this period were one of the easiest to follow.
