Synopsis: Often accompanying a matching product binder, the highly comprehensive catalogs of the late 1970’s adorned the distinctive Millerstrip pattern across the center of a white backdrop. They ran for several years between 1978 and 1981 with distinct updates between the editions. These late 1970’s brochures and catalogs do see a significant change of focus from those seen in the 60’s. Herman Miller had adapted to emphasizing furniture for the workplace and the Eames designs are no exceptions with most coverage on the Aluminum Group, work based fiberglass chairs and tandem, sling seating systems. There are some mainstays that always feature, such as the Eames Lounge Chair, Compact Sofa and Chaise Longue. Catalogs of this period are excellently laid out and very easy to follow, have all the technical specifications needed, illustrations and prices all in too.
