We previously uploaded a blog post on how to buy on Eames.com as well as showcasing the different tools on our website that make it easy for you to go through the purchasing process.

As you know, Eames.com is a marketplace and we cannot have buyers, without having sellers.

We have made the selling on Eames.com quick and easy, but just in case you have any questions during the process of selling your Eames piece, we felt that it would be beneficial to create a blog post in case you needed a hand!

Benefits of selling on Eames.com

There are many marketplaces out there where you can sell your goods. eBay, Amazon and Craigslist are just some of the options out of many.

But when it comes to selling an Eames piece, it's a very particular niche. This is mainly due to the important information that is needed to ensure you make the most out of your sale.

The purpose of Eames.com is to cater for that niche, and users of the website will have interests for Eames products, making your selling process on Eames.com more productive.

Scenario: You may have previously bought an Eames item purely because of the appearance, but you now want to sell it. You have some knowledge on the history, rarity and desirability but you are unaware of how to input that information across when selling the product.

The benefit about selling on Eames.com is, we have provided all the important information as options for your item, you just need to select the options which will then shape your advert.

But how do I know what options to select?

We thought you may ask this, and so we have an answer for you!

As we have mentioned in previous blogs, we have a tool on our website called the ‘Wiki'. The Wiki has been designed to help you when buying or selling. There are specific categories for different Eames pieces, where you can select the sub-categories. This will take you to a page where you can filter through and find your item.

This will have all the required information you will need when selling your item! We also have images of the products so you know which piece it is that we are providing information for. We have previously uploaded tutorial blog posts where we run you through a step by step on how to use and get the most out of our Wiki facility.

IT’S FREE?

Not only do we help you to sell your Eames piece by providing information, but another perk about selling on Eames.com is its completely free!

No fees for signing up, or selling a particular item. In addition to this, you are able to set your own price and even set up your own discounts whenever you wish.

This could be useful for events such as Black Friday or Boxing Day.

In the next part of the blog post, we will take you through a step by step guide and explain each stage when listing your item.

Step 1 - Account Creation

Creating an account on our website will not take you any more than 30 seconds. Regardless of whether you’re buying and selling, the account creation process is the same.

The benefits of also creating an account mean that you can opt in to sign up to our newsletter. We will tailor our newsletters to information we think you might find useful! Whether it's about the products in our marketplace we think you will like, events near you that we may be attending to, or just blog post about topics that can help you.

Step 2 - Start Selling

Once you have made an account, you can start your selling process. Click the tab on top of the website where it states ‘Sell on Eames.com'. This will take you on the page where you then select ‘Start Selling Today'.

Step-4---1.jpg

Step 3 - Type of Seller

You will be taken to the next page where you select whether you are just an individual seller, or whether you are a business

Please select the appropriate option to proceed.

You can select your payment preferences in terms of currency and then input your PayPal details if you are an individual seller.

If however, you are a business, please input all the relevant information in the required boxes and then click submit once you have read and agreed with the terms and conditions.

Step 4 – Shipping

Once you make your way to shipping options, you have to start by stating where you are located, where in the world you wish to ship to and where you want people to collect from if you do select ‘collection’.

You will have the opportunity to create a rates table.

This is a table where you can set prices of shipping, based on the separate countries you are shipping to, along with the with the weight categories of each item.

This is not necessary, but if you are looking to sell often, this helps with saving time and it means not having to calculate shipping costs over and over.

Your rates table can be seen by your buyers once you publish the listing.

If you do not want to put up a rates table each time you list, that is completely fine, but it means that you will need to enter in a weight and price for everywhere you want to send the item too, separately.

Step 5 – Listing the item

This stage will run through the different options from start to end when setting up your listing. Along with the stages, below are some screenshots to show you what each section looks like.

1.    Select ‘Add product’ > Choose Category (e.g.) Chairs > Model > Select Age > Manufacturer > Condition > Brief Description - (150 characters minimum) >

2    Images (upload up to 8 images, 800 x 800 pixels and no larger than 2mb per image >

3.    Initial color > Specific color (Optional) > Price (stated Currency & Quantity) >

4.    Options for Shipping or Collection - (Select countries if you haven’t set up rates table) > Select Main cotenant > (Select the countries within the continent that you would like to ship to or alternatively, deselect countries you do not want to ship to.) >

5.    Choose price amount for each country – (Or you can click rates table and state information like weight manually > Publish.
