Originally released in 1956 after years of development by husband and wife design team, Charles and Ray Eames. Manufactured and sold by the Herman Miller company, it was one of their first chair designs made for a high-end market. It was inspired by the English Club Chair, and became an icon of modern style design and is still in production today.
