I am selling this Eames Lounge Chair With ottoman.
Made in the UK by Hille of London Ltd in the late 50s/very early 60s.
These are rare and were made under license from Herman Miller for the commonwealth and Scandinavian markets from 1957 to 1967 only.
This is a vintage Original Eames/Hille chair.
This chair has all of its original parts on it, screws, clips and leather cushions with down feather inserts. This includes original foil stickers; present under both pieces, the patina on the chair has been preserved. So will show signs of wear consistent with its age: 60+ years.
4 new shock mounts and all 6 rubber piece/mounts were replaced last year by Graham Mancha. He also provided armrest screw made to fit Hille’s chair. They need to be flat due to their specific shapes.
The chair is structurally sound.
This is a very Early model so these have cushions insert made with down feathers that needs plumping up every now and then.
Armrest have 3 screws, this example features “the” Hille’s mistake!! Making this an even rarer find!!
Chair is super comfy and has that unmistakable early Eames vintage look to it…
