One of the most iconic and widely used bases for the Eames side shell was the DSS stacking base offered with the Herman Miller side shells. Here we have an original, vintage, version of this revolutionary base which allowed multiple Eames side chairs to be stored safely, securely and neatly away.
The stacking base was a common base used by the likes of schools, churches, stadiums, anywhere that required a large number of chairs that could all be stacked away after use to re-open the space.
This particular version is finished to fit the standard ‘narrow mount’ configured Eames side shells which means it can easily replace original ‘H’ bases or previous narrow mount stacking bases.
