This is an original, vintage Eames beech ET143 6-foot contract table for Herman Miller in a good used condition with its iconic black and stainless steel base. Contract tables are an extremely versatile design and this table with its beech veneered top is a great example, perfect for any office or home environment.
Contract tables were made in so many shapes and sizes and with so many base types the possibilities of how and where to use them was limitless. Their design began with the introduction of the Aluminium Group by Charles and Ray when they were asked to help furnish J Irwin Miller’s house. The four-star, later changing to five-star, base was the common feature across the chairs and table produced under this label.
The table is in a good vintage condition with some light scratches on the table surface and some age related scuffs around the edges; further pictures are available upon request, but it is still very sturdy and the veneer is not coming off. A good clean may ease its appearance too.
Original base again shows some signs of age related wear only and is in good condition. It is missing its feet.
The label on the underside indicates this table was produced between 1984 and 1990 by Herman Miller.
Measures 182.88 cm long x 91.40 cm wide x 72.39 cm high.
