This is a pair of used, Zenith faded salmon Herman Miller Eames dining chairs- the shell has detailed fiberglass marks, attached to a natural oak wood dowel base to create a perfect dining chair. As a part of the custom contract colours editions, salmon is regarded as desirable, therefore this pair would be perfect addition for those who want to add a splash of colour to your dining room.
The Eames shell series chairs really do not need any introduction. With early prototypes beginning in the late 1940's, production began on the Eames' dream of 'chairs for the masses' in 1950 with the arm and then the sides later in 1952/53. The original and vintage fiberglass chairs were so versatile and so modern that they only increase in popularity as the years go by.
Herman Miller faithfully reintroduced the fiberglass version of the iconic Eames shell chair to re-capture the original style the vintage variants display. The wonderfully textured fibres help define the colour whilst giving the shells a sense of depth in their design.
This salmon dining chair has a new, light oak dowel base; therefore, the stability of the chair is still very good despite its age. There are some scratches on the surface, and water marks are present on the seat of the shell chair, further images are available upon request.
As this is a zenith side shell, these side shells were generally produced around 1953.
