A great example of an original Herman Miller Eames lounge chair and ottoman finished in sumptuous brown leather and gorgeous and wonderfully grainy walnut, perfect. The deep brown of the perfectly worn leather is wrapped in the beautiful walnut which has aged well creating a truly classic looking chair.
Walnut was one of the 'new' woods used after Rosewood was banned in the very early 80s. It was introduced alongside Cherry, both of which are still being produced today. In 2006, Herman Miller introduced Santos Palisander as a new alternative to Rosewood which brought back the sumptuously grainy wood.
This lounge chair and ottoman are in good condition for their age. The leather has become sublimely supple, reaching the perfect ‘worn in’ point but there are some slight sections in the leather that is a little more worn.
The light walnut wood has a great vintage patina to it.
The silver label indicates this lounge chair and ottoman was produced between 1990 and 2008.
