These ash, original Herman Miller and Eames Dining Chair Metal bases or DCM chairs look fantastic and would bring class and style to any room. The textured wood finish with its natural finish looks exquisite on the shiny metal bases whilst providing the comfort one comes to expect from an Eames product.
The product of the Eames’s experimentation with molded plywood, the molded plywood series of chairs were available initially in two guises, the LCW and the DCW and then later with the addition of the LCM and the DCM chairs. The LCW and DCW being constructed from a wooden base and wooden seat and back-rest whilst the LCM and DCM had a metal frame with wooden seat and back-rest.
Herman Miller have faithfully continued these chairs and introduced additional finishes such as walnut and sumptuous Santos palisander.
Individual Characteristics
As newer versions of the iconic DCM chair, these particular examples are in very good condition with only some light signs of wear reflective of their age. The trivalent metal frames are also in good condition though a quick clean will help increase their shine.
The label on the underside of the seat indicates these DCMs are from 2012+ directly from Herman Miller.
